I asked Kellen what he wanted to do on our last day of Summer Vacation and he picked Monkey Bizness so we ate lunch at Snooze with Grandma T. and played at Monkey Bizness for a few hours.
I had never heard anything about the Jefferson County Fair before so we decided to check it out Saturday afternoon. The carnival rides were pretty ghetto but kept Kellen busy for a little bit. He also got to ride a pony and girl's told him he looked just like a cowboy (a preppy one I guess?).
While we were watching the horse show at the fairgrounds, we noticed the new light rail line. We decided on an impromptu trip downtown on light rail for dinner at Wynkoop Brewery. Kellen was memorized by the train and enjoyed every minute of it. When we got downtown, we ignored all of the signs saying Union Station was closed and ended up getting stuck in construction and Rockies traffic. Poor Kellen walked all the way from Union Station to Coors Field and then down Wazee to Wynkoop Brewery...maybe 2 miles? The kids is a trooper! We had a yummy dinner and then jumped on the 16th Street shuttles back to the light rail station (hardly any walking at all, boy did we feel stupid).
We visited the pool for a bit on Sunday. Steve and Kellen had fun in the cold water while Jae and I watched from the sidelines.
I dug out the exersaucer and cleaned off the cat litter dust, cobwebs and dried spit up (the thing was discusting!). Jae hasn't quite got the hang of it but is still enjoying it.
