End of Summer Vacation Part 1

We are in the final countdown to returning to work and school. I have been on break for awhile now and am having mixed feelings about going back to work. I am happy to be working again, am hesitant to go back to the drama at my school, am excited for Kellen to go back to school and be in the Pre school classroom,  am nervous to send Jae to daycare, and am freaking about about having to pay for two in daycare. I am also torn between spending my last week off getting things done that I know I will never have time to do once I start working and just having as much fun as possible with the kids. I'm trying for a mix. Looking back on summer, it seems like it has gone so fast but then specific events seem so long ago. I wish we had done more this summer but I have to remind myself that we have a 4 mo old baby and I'm pretty proud of myself for getting out there as much as we did.
Here is what we've been up to...
Our flyball club had a BBQ last Friday night. Many of us have more than just dogs now and it was fun getting all the kids together. From left to right: Andrew (2), Lily (9 mo), Abby (3), Bryce (7), Jae (4 mo), and Kellen (3).

We had Steve's family over for breakfast Sunday since his Aunt Chrissy and Aunt Diane were in town.

Kellen got a cavity filled last week. He was awesome and watched Thomas on TV while Dr. Tim worked.

And the reason why he had a cavity...the fact that I bribe him with sweets. Bad mom! We were at the pool this week and I told Kellen I would buy him ice cream if he went under water on his own. This is something he hasn't done all summer and he went under no problem without being told twice for ice cream.

Jae has been hanging around the house, smiling lots!

We spent the cloudy day today at the zoo. We got to see the new snow leopard, Misha, a tiger in the tree, a sting ray in Tropical Discovery (which we never actually go in and Kellen loved it today), and giraffes (Kellen counted 5). Kellen told me his favorite animal today were the elephants. A few months ago I showed him a video on the Denver Zoo's facebook page of them transporting a new male elephant, Billy from Antwerp to Denver. Kellen is now obsessed with seeing the new elephant and I'm having a hard time explaining that he is in quarantine. I guarantee we will be one of the first families to see Billy when he finally makes his debut!

Miss Jae had fun at the zoo too, even though we all got wet in the rain leaving!
