Omaha

Wow, who knew a weekend in Omaha would result in so many great pictures! Katy and I worked together for a summer at the zoo. We have stayed in touch over the years and have kids the same age. Her family moved to Omaha a few years ago and we have wanted to get out there to visit them. We decided to spend a weekend there so we could see the first day of the Swimming Olympic Trials. We had a great weekend and Trinity had a fun time tagging along.

I have heard great things about the Omaha Zoo and their new African Grasslands exhibit didn't disappoint. We had a great day there.  

Omaha's convention center has a large arena that an olympic sized swimming pool was built in. We saw prelims in the morning, checked out the "Aqua Zone", ate dinner downtown and then watched the finals.

Jae fell asleep in the stands when we sat back down for finals. She tried really hard to power through with no nap. 

Michael Phelps didn't swim anything our day but we had a sighting during finals (he's in the white shirt).

We had a great weekend. One day of trials wasn't enough, in 4 years maybe we'll stay longer.
