Jae's 18 Months Old!

Jae is 18 months old today! It has totally snuck up on us and we can't believe what a big girl she is becoming.

Jae is such a happy girl, she is always smiling and willing to do whatever you ask. She is a tough little girl who doesn't like to be pushed around. She can hold her ground with her big brother and I think that is transferring to school too.

Jae is obsessed with reading. We will go through all her books every night after dinner. She likes to make her animal sounds while we read and is doing a good job saying words like "puppy," "kitty," and "ball." Jae has a large vocabulary (or, at least compared to Kellen at this age). She catches on fast and can mimic most things we say.

Jae is still a great eater, it is so nice not having to deal with another picky eater (knock on wood). I'm still nursing her but have recently cut out her morning feeding and we are down to just bedtime. We'll work on weaning her completely over the next few weeks as I have a girls weekend planned away from her. (Update: Jae was officially weaned when I returned from Arizona. We had one last nursing session October 21.)

Jae and Kellen get along so well and do a great job entertaining each other. We all have so much fun with her and are really enjoying this toddler phase.
As with every year, our fall seems to be full of football games and politics. We have been to two CU games so far, both with great weather.

I'm not sure I can keep up with our school board for another 3 years, but for now we're fighting a good fight.

We actually got into the mountains this year to see the fall colors. That never happens! We had a great weekend with James, Ashley, and Eric hiking, playing lots of games and playing at the park.
