Jae's One Year Old!

Jae is One Year Old Today!
Our sweet, happy, rolly polly girl is a year old, say it ain't so!?! I can hardly believe the clingy, opinionated, nursing queen has turned into this laid back, smiley, flirty, happy baby. I don't really think Jae was a hard baby but she was no Kellen. The frustration I had when she was tiny seems like a far away memory. Everyone who meets her now always comments on how happy and smiley Miss Jae is and her teacher loves her because she never cries. Jae has been very patient tagging along on our adventures. The second baby definitely has to learn how to keep up. It will be nice when she is old enough to enjoy everything along side her brother.

Jae loves her brother, Sydney, playing with everything in the house that isn't actually a "toy," dancing, clapping and waving. When she does play with her toys, she likes her car, activity table, squigz and books.

Jae is a great eater and we are loving this non picky stage where everything is new and yummy. She still nurses or takes a bottle every 3-4 hours during the day and sleeps from 7:00-6:00 straight through the night. She is also eating some cereal and fruit for breakfast, purees and finger food for lunch and usually eats whatever we are for dinner. She is especially fond of meat, cheese and beans. She can down an entire cut up banana, avocado or kiwi in one sitting.

Jae still avoids naps but will usually take two short ones a day. She does however sleep long and hard at night. When she is out, she doesn't move all night. I am jealous of how soundly she sleeps. She always sleeps on her tummy with her butt in the air and her arms tucked under her body. So sweet!

When I think of girls, I think of lots of talking and Jae is living up to my stereotype. She is always babbling and mimicking what we say. Her words are kitty, Mamma, Dada, and Uh Oh. I can't express in words why Jae is so funny to us but she is always making us crack up. She is always doing quirky things and has such a personality.

Jae is not walking yet but pulls herself up and cruises around without any problems. She is discovering stairs and steps despite our trying to avoid it. She is very strong and can keep up with her brother when they wrestle.

Happy Birthday to our baby girl! We love her so much and are having so much fun watching her and Kellen grow together.
