We really wanted to do something fun as a family on Jae's birthday but had a super slow morning since Steve and Kellen had gotten in late Friday from Mexico. We ended up at the Downtown Aquarium and had a good time. Jae seemed interested in the fish and other animals and Kellen loves anything alive (although was a little scared of the dark exhibits).
I made Veggie Risotto for dinner, one of my favorite recipes. Jae loved it, Kellen did not...pretty typical.
We'll have a big cake next weekend for Jae's party so I made a carrot cake for her actual birthday. She ate all the frosting off of it and took a few bites of cake....Kellen did the same.
We opened a few presents from Great Grandma and Grandpa Clayburn, Auntie Monica (and fam), Asher & Austin, and us.
Drum roll please...we got Jae a ladybug wheelie toy. We had a hard time figuring out what to get her and thought this was a cute, indoor toy that can double as a walker and is smaller than any of the other ride on toys we have. So far, its a hit.
We had a great day celebrating Jae's birthday. We have her 1 year well baby visit Monday and her big Rainbow party next weekend.
