Kellen is 10 months old today!
First thing that comes to my mind this month is sleep, or lack there of. We have developed a pretty consistent bedtime routine. We change Kellen into PJs and read him some books around 7:30 and he will go right to sleep in his crib. I wake him up around 9:30, change his diaper, and nurse him one last time. Unfortunately, sleeping through the night has not been happening. Some nights he'll wake up every few hours and just need to be rocked back to sleep. Other nights, he won't want to sleep in his crib but is fine sleeping with us in the rocker. On the worst nights, he just cries for hours and won't sleep no matter what we do. We've been to the doctor to rule out teething or an ear infection so I'm not sure what's up but this is not a phase I'm fond of and I miss my sleepy baby. Oh yeah, and he hates taking naps...guess he's having too much fun.
When I took Kellen to the doctor last week he weighed 24 lbs 7 oz with clothes on so he seems to be gaining a pound a month. His hair and feet are growing like weeds and he seems to have very fat feet just like his uncle J.D. and cousin Deaglan. 12-18 mo. clothes fit him perfect and I'm buying 18-24 mo for the spring and summer. It amazes me how fast he catches on and perfects a new skill. A few weeks ago, he was just learning to take steps and now he can cruise around furniture and walk very quickly with his alligator walker. He can stand up on his own just holding onto something with one hand or leaning on it without hands. He can stand on his tip toes to reach something (that he's usually not supposed to have). As you can see from the pictures above, Kellen is fast and won't sit still if he's not in the mood. Kellen is waving more and will clap his hands. I'm working on the signs for milk and eat/food but do so inconsistently so not sure if he'll ever pick them up. His favorite things to play with are not his toys but everything else...the water bottle on Cisco's cage, the DVD player, the computer, our phones, the remote, tupperware, the dog food bowls, the animal water, the trash can, etc.
