Four Months!

September 25, 2010
Kellen is 4 months old today!

The biggest change this month is Kellen's movement. He has learned how to roll over both ways and everyday gets better and better at this skill. Between rolling over and wiggling his legs he can effectively move around on the floor and in his crib. The pictures this month were especially hard to take because he throws his body around and doesn't sit still. He really enjoys swatting at his toys on his activity mat and is starting to be able to use his exersaucer. He can sit up by himself for a split second before tipping over. We can use the Bumbo seat now without worring about him falling over. He is content sitting in it watching us go about our business. He is talking to us alot, jabbering away and he has a new skill of squealing both when he's happy and upset. He has never been a crier so the squealing seems to be his way of communicating to us when he's upset. We still wake Kellen up once a night to eat, he seems to be really hungry once he's up but I don't think he would ever wake up on his own. He eats quickly and goes right back to bed so I don't mind getting up. We have his 4 month appointment Monday so will discuss with his doctor any changes we should make in his feeding routine. Daycare is going well, he gets lots of playing in there and takes reasonable naps and of course everyone there loves him. Kellen and the animals are starting to pay more attention to eachother. Higgins still looks at him in disgust and is constantly trying to compete for our laps. Sydney has decided that Kellen's fingers feel pretty good so she'll rub up against him and he likes grabbing her fur. Trinity and Kona check in on him constantly and Trinity knows that where Kellen is we are and is always close by. When Kellen does cry, Kona will come into the room and stare at us like "umm, can you please make him be quiet?" Kellen likes to grab handfuls of Trinity's hair and since she's always close by he gets to do this alot. While it's crazy to think of how fast Kellen is growing and changing, I can't wait to see his personality and all of his new skills as he gets older.

He is so stinking cute! I am loving his big boy pedipeds and jeans! What a little man. Seriously, now that you are back at work, let that kid sleep! Otheriwse he might pull a James and get used to eating in the middle of the night and decide to wake up every 2 hours until he is 18 months old. I want HeWho to take after Kellen and not James in that department :-) Happy 4 month b-day Kellen!
