Labor Day Weekend

For the first time in many years, we skipped the Grand Junction flyball tournament and stayed in town. We were very excited about having a 3 day weekend, free to fill up with fun events! We started out at Finkel & Garf Brewery for a Rocky Mountain Brew Run. I ran a 5K while Steve, Kellen and Jae hung out at the brewery. We then feasted on a food truck lunch before heading home.

We have been discussing adding another cat to our house. Jae loves Sydney so much and I thought the kids would get a kick out of playing with a kitten. We found our new family member at Petsmart and were able to adopt him and take him home that day.

Io (EEE-Oh, like Jupiter's moon) is an 8 week old male long hair kitten. He was rescued from a barn with his mom and litter mates. So far, he has stood up to the dogs, left Sydney alone, and has been very patient with the kids. He loves to cuddle with Steve and I after the kids go to bed at night. Io is very playful and the kids are enjoying (and fighting over) playing with him. Trinity spends her time stalking him, Kona is pretty annoyed and acting out by getting into the trash and eating his toys, and Sydney is adjusting while taking advantage of the new beds, scratching posts, and toys.

We spent a day at Eliches and had so much fun. Kellen is big enough to ride all of the adult rides and we took advantage of that by riding the Twister and Sea Dragon. Him and Jae liked all of the kiddie land rides, especially the roller coaster.
