End of Summer Vacay

We've been enjoying the last few weeks of summer vacation. The weather has not been totally cooperative but we have found plenty to do and are all exhausted.

Jae and I have continued to spend every morning poolside while Kellen takes lessons. He came really close to passing Age 3-5 Level 2 but needs to work on his tummy floats and swimming independently (or at least actually do those skills during class).

He did master an independent back float, we're pretty impressed.

We've spent lots of time at the zoo. Kellen really enjoys running around, looking at animals. It is the perfect place for him.

The museum is always a hit!

We met some friends I know from Elementary/Middle/High School at Ralston Central Park in Arvada. It is right where the old North Jeffco Ice Arena and outdoor pool used to be. It was so cool, we went back a 2nd day with Karina and Aliana.

Little Man Ice Cream treat after Kellen's haircut. What a busy and fun day that ended up being!

Lots of time hanging out and eating at home.

Last day of vacation and we went stayed at the pool after lessons and played at the park.

The end of summer is always bitter sweet. I will miss having adventures with the kids everyday. Kellen is sooooo ready to go back to school, he asks to go back every day. This year he will be in the Pre-K room with Ms. Debbie. Jae will be starting in the Ones toddler room. I think she will have so much fun and thrive there. She is ready to be little Miss Independendent. I am looking forward to working with  my colleagues at Summit and meeting my new group of kids. Lots of uncertainty that I'm sure will lead to lots of stress but my goal for the year is to focus on teaching my students science and the other skills that will help them be successful at that.
