Ski School

The mountains seem to be the perfect place to spend President's Day weekend. We went up Friday night and after sitting in what should have been predictable traffic, we settled into the condo with some friends from work.

Kellen spent Saturday in ski school while Steve, Jae and I hung out in the lodge anxiously awaiting the chance to spy on Kellen's group. Kellen had a morning meltdown and ended up in the TLC room for a bit but after some food, he hit the slopes.

Watching all of the itty bitty kids ski was pretty adorable. Kellen did well, he was able to walk on his skis over to the magic carpet, ride the carpet up, get off and send himself down the bunny hill. He struggled with stopping and getting up but overall I'm pretty impressed. He wasn't overly excited about skiing but did say he would want to go again. After watching skiing on the Olympics recently, he might be more excited now.
Finally, I have a picture with Kellen's real smile!!! He was watching a video of himself skiing after his lesson, so happy.
Apres Skiing movie time on the couch with Milo while the adults played Ticket to Ride over and over and over again.
We went tubing at the Frisco Adventure Park on Sunday with James, Wendy, Milo and Ashley.

What a fabulous weekend with snow, friends, games, lots of wine and good food!
