Jae's Three Months Old!

Jae is three months old today!
Our baby girl is growing out of the newborn stage quickly. She has such a personality and is always smiling, cooing and laughing. Jae is a happy baby and just gets fussy when she's tired or hungry. She can be rather dramatic if you accidentally bonk her head or scare her, don't worry Jae, you'll be ok.

Along with being more social, she is much more playful. Jae loves laying on her activity mat and grabbing/hitting her toys. She gets fussy if the lights and music turn off. She isn't a huge fan of being on her tummy but can lift her head and move around. She can also lift her head and look around when she's in her car seat. We are using the bumbo seat more and more, she can sit in it for a few minutes at a time while she throws her arms around. She doesn't stand on her legs much but loves kicking them. Last night during her bath she was kicking her legs so hard she splashed all the water out of her tub! I took Jae to Kellen's music class yesterday and she was awake, staring at the teacher playing guitar the entire class. It was fun to see her so focused on something and I was just glad she wasn't crying! Jae likes to shove her hands and finger into her mouth and drool all over them, she's pretty in love with her hands right now!

Thank goodness Jae sleeps all night because she hardly sleeps at all during the day. She cat naps...30 minutes here and there mostly when in a carrier out and about or in her car seat. When we really need to get her to nap, we swaddle her and put her in the bouncy chair. We put her to bed around 9 every night and I usually wake her up around 7 am. Sometimes she wakes up earlier and can definitely sleep later but getting up at 7 works well for all of us. Her nursing schedule is getting more consistent. We can usually make it 3 hours between feedings. If she is really hungry, she is a much more efficient nurser so I'm trying to not let her snack. We give her a bottle of pumped milk every night around dinner time. She is getting MUCH better at taking a bottle. In fact, we left her for the first time the other night and she successfully drank two bottles (of course, she still wanted to nurse when I got home!). After her nightly bottle, she nurses one more time before falling asleep.

Jae is getting so big so quickly! I packed away all of her 0-3 mo clothes and she is filling out her 3-6 mo stuff. She comfortably fits into 9 mo items and is almost ready for 6-12 mo. No stocking up for fall/winter yet...I have no idea what size she is going to be!! We love her big round head, big blue eyes, fuzzy reddish hair and rolls of fat all over her body.

Kellen keeps track of Jae and wants to know where she is or what she's doing all the time but he isn't terribly interactive with her. He definitely has some jealously issues. He'll hit her when I'm nursing or yell "WAKE UP" if she's sleeping. This past weekend it took him 40 minutes to say I'm sorry to her for hitting. Could he be anymore stubborn? We are working on this but I think it is expected behavior and overall he's being good with her.

I am glad I have another month off with Jae, I can't imagine sending her to daycare yet (even though Kellen had already started at this age). We'll enjoy our baby as much as we can because she's growing so fast.

Oh my goodness, could that last picture be any sweeter? I am so glad I took a picture of both my boys every time I took Mac's month pictures. It was crazy to look back at how much James had grown during that year too! I can't believe Jae is already 3 months old!
