We've been MIA since the Fourth of July because my laptop was being stupid and we decided to give Geek Squad one last chance to get it up and running with no success. While I am not happy to have had to spend the money on a new laptop (and printer/scanner), I am excited to have one that works!
So....we went up to Silverthorn on the 6th to get out of town for a few days. I've really been craving a vacation, I haven't been on an airplane anywhere in a year so this is the best we came up with.. The weather was cool and we had fun hanging out, hiking and shopping. I wish we all slept better there but that's a work in progress.

We have found a close hike to a lake called "Lily Pad Pond" near our condo. It's a little over 3 miles so a perfect quick, easy hike. We were super impressed with Kellen who hiked back over a mile on his own at a reasonable pace.
Alison and the twins came into town so we've been spending some time with them. We met my mom and them at Beau Jo's one night for dinner. Kids night meant free dinner and balloon animals for all!
Jae is really enjoying sitting up and watching the world around her. Kellen likes that she can interact with him a bit now. She is obsessed with her hands!
We celebrated Deaglan and Adalynn's 6th birthday at Jumpin' Jordy's and Smartcow. Kellen had so much fun and Deaglan was sooooo good with him, making sure he was included.
Kellen went to see Dr. Tim for a check up. This is the fourth time he has been to the dentist and the first time he was willing to sit in the chair and have his teeth cleaned. I was super impressed. He was totally into all of the choices he got...the penquin tooth tickler, chocolate tooth paste, Jake toothbrush, Cars sticker, and bouncy ball. Unfortunately, Kellen has a cavity and will be going back soon to have it filled.
We had Jae's 3 month photo shoot last Saturday and since we were all dressed and ready to go by 10 am we spent the afternoon at the Children's Museum and checked out Little Man Ice Cream. It was yummy and we figured out where the happening part of Denver is right now.
Sunday was Kai's 3rd birthday party. Kellen loved the eating, jumping in the bouncy castle and playing with Kai and Tucker.
This week we've been hanging around the house and park.
We got to spend one last day with Deaglan, Adalynn and Haylie at our pool today before they head back to Texas. Kellen really enjoyed playing with them and I was happy to have extra hands to help with him and Jae.
I'm realizing that the end of this summer is coming quickly. While I think I'm ready to go back to work, I'm not sure I'm ready to go back to my job and I'm getting very nervous about leaving Jae. Jae is going through a momma's girl phase. She seems to do ok with others during the day but at night she wants nothing to do with Steve. Not sure what to do about it but Steve is really frustrated.
