Maui...Finally!

Woo Hoo, I got my camera back. To celebrate, I have posted way too many pictures of our trip to Maui. We stayed in Kihei which was very centrally located and near all the stores and restaurants. We usually went out on a morning activity, came back to the condo for nap, and then had an afternoon activity before dinner. We were lucky to find Kalama Beach Park just down the road from where we were staying that had a great playground right on the ocean. We spent lots of time there.

The pool where we were staying was not huge but provided an easy way to expend some energy with all the kids. Pierce, Kai and Kellen all enjoyed their time in the water.

The Maui Ocean Center was in Maalaea, just north of us. We saw lots of fish, turtles, and sharks. Kellen even got to touch sea stars and urchins.

The Kamaole Beaches were down the street from us so we could go for quick trips.

After rinsing off the sand.
We spent one morning on the Sugar Cane Train which left from Lahaina and traveled north for about an hour. I'm not going to lie, it was a little long but all the boys did enjoy it.
Waiting for the train.

Our favorite beach was Maluaka Beach. We spent two long mornings there playing in the sand and water. Kellen and Steve dug holes in the sand, Kellen ran away from the waves, and we all swam in the ocean.

We stopped by the NOAA Humpback Whale Sanctuary just down the road one afternoon. They had some toys for Kellen to play with and we learned all about whales from the volunteer there.

On our last day, we had to check out early but our flight wasn't until late evening. We headed to Lahaina to walk around and ride on the glass bottom boat.

Under the boat, looking for creatures.

On the way back to the dock, we escaped the cabin and got some fresh air.
Our last stop in Maui was the Surfing Goat Dairy. Kellen loved feeding the goats, I was really interested in how they raise and milk their goats, and we got to tast yummy goat cheese and goat's milk truffles.

The trip was really fun. Kellen enjoyed the pool, beach and ocean. He also had fun playing with Kai and Pierce all week. Steve and I learned that traveling with a toddler is never relaxing but it is so enjoyable to watch Kellen experience new things.
