Steve and I had made reservations to camp this past weekend but after some thought, we decided that we didn't really want to update our camping supplies and entertain a toddler around a camp site for two days in the extreme heat and fire ban in place. Instead, we invited some friends up to the condo for the weekend. Turned out to be an excellent decision. It was a very rainy weekend and although it did not rain much in the mountains, it rained enough to make camping miserable.
We went on a short "hike" Saturday morning with Eric and Ashley to lilypad pond. Kellen fell asleep in the back pack and missed the best part. |

Saturday afternoon James, Wendy and Milo joined us and while the kids watched Monsters, Inc the adults played Catan.

We love the playground at Lake Dillon. Kellen and Milo had fun there Sunday. They even got to watch the boats and throw rocks in the lake.

We had a fun, relaxing, cool weekend with great company. Kellen is awesome when there are other kids around to play with. The worst part of spending the weekend in the mountains is trying to guess the traffic patterns on I-70 coming home but yesterday, there actually wasn't any traffic which was icing on the cake!

Oh, I miss the mountains! We haven't made it up this summer yet. Maybe we can plan a trip up the same weekend. The kids would have so much fun!
