9 Month Stats

Kellen will be 9 months on Friday but we went to the doctor today to take advantage of my day off. Kellen weighs 23 lbs 10 oz (91st percentile), is 28 3/4 in long (71st percentile) and his head is 45 cm (43rd percentile). His growth is slowing but still looks great and he is happy and healthy.

Kellen apparently has a double ear infection. Now that we know he has it, some of his behaviors the past week make sense but overall he has slept well and has not had a fever. We decided not to give him antibiotics and to try to wait it out since he seems happy.

Kellen's hemoglobin test showed that his levels are a little low so we've been told to introduce some more iron in his diet. His morning cereal is a good start but we need to get him to eat some meat and cereal more consistently at night. We are going to try changing up our nursing schedule a little in the afternoons to encourage him to eat more. I think we'll also give him some turkey or chicken with his morning meal (yum!).

Our next well baby appointment is at 1 year and we scheduled it June 2nd because I won't have to work. I can't believe it is so close to summer! I'm not anxious for Kellen to be that old but I am anxious to spend more time with him.
