Last weekend we gave our dining room a make over. I'm not exactly sure why we picked it first since we haven't even used it yet but now that its done we were able to finish unpacking all of our serving and glassware.
Here is a before picture of the dining room when we were looking at the house for the first time.
After we took down the wallpaper, it took 2 coats of white on the trim, 3 coats of white on the ceiling, 1 coat of primer on the walls, and 2 coats of paint on the walls. We also replaced the light fixture and replaced all of the outlets and face plates. 
I'm not sure what to do about the window. We might get blinds on it when we redo the window coverings in the living room but it doesn't really need them since it looks out over the backyard and no one can see in. Maybe I'll just do curtains.
I think we'll tackle the family room this weekend!

Dining room looks great. KT said she went to CostPlus and got curtains (or maybe just sheers) for really cheap... might be worth checking out.

I wonder what it would look like if you did curtains all across the back wall. Might look cool if you could find a good color or pattern? Kind of like an accent wall. Just a thought.
